About Funnier By The Lake Comedy
At its core, Funnier By The Lake is about comedy. Primarily the traditional performance art of Stand Up Comedy. That’s how this whole thing started. Writer, comedian and FBTL founder, Larry Bloom, had a vision to bring live comedy to the suburban community in which he lives, on the north shore of the city of Chicago. He has and continues to do so by creating and producing live comedy showcases at various venues across the northern suburbs, and building the brand that is Funnier By The Lake Comedy.
In addition to live, stand up comedy showcases, Funnier by the Lake Comedy provides a wide array of services that integrate unique comedy with social causes and the marketing efforts of businesses. This is accomplished by providing live entertainment and/or emcee/hosting for non-profit or corporate events, producing hilarious, dinner-and-a-show events at hospitality venues, writing original, humorous content, punching up existing content with humor, or supplying public speakers with jokes that will liven up presentations and engage attendees.
Each writer and performer included in Funnier By The Lake Comedy events and projects is a talented, experienced professional from Chicago, the suburbs and throughout the nation. Most have trained at acclaimed comedy and improv institutions, such as The Second City in Chicago. They each possess a variety of talents and styles, ensuring that the best, most appropriate talent will be assigned to every event.
